Aaron Wilcox is a ceramist working in Wilmington, NC. The work on this site consists of the ongoing Bundles Project in the studio. The series has expanded to include the Masses, Wraps, Drapes, and SoundObjects. In addition to the ceramics component, Wilcox also draws and photographs the work for a deeper understanding of the objects and to slow down the act of making.
The Bundled series addresses questions of fit and the composition of individuals in units, in groups, in systems. The intent is to reduce the number of variables, so that subtle shifts in shape, scale and edges are evident, showing both individuality and patterns; demonstrate the intricate nature of relationships through interactions, connections, and gaps between each element; and clarify the complexity and interconnectedness of the system.
